Sharon Locatell, MAI, CRE, MRICS President
Sharon Locatell has 30 years experience in real estate valuation and consulting with a background that encompasses property types including commercial, residential, retail, industrial and vacant land, as well as lease analysis and feasibility studies. She has been actively involved in market value appraisals, consulting assignments, arbitration proceedings, purchase price allocation studies, estate work, litigation support and expert witness testimony and investment advisory consultation.
She holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, awarded only to those who complete rigorous educational requirements, have extensive appraisal experience and pass a comprehensive examination, all significantly exceeding state and federal requirements. She is also a Professional Member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Most recently, Sharon was awarded the CRE designation from The Counselors of Real Estate, a membership organization established exclusively for real estate advisors who provide intelligent, unbiased and trusted advice. Membership in the form of CRE designation is awarded by invitation only.
Previously Executive Director, Brown Harris Stevens Appraisal & Consulting, LLC, Sharon brings a wealth of diversified experience in all facets of appraisal and valuation, finely-honed professional skills and an outstanding reputation as a consummate industry professional to her position as President.
Sharon has acted as real estate appraiser and/or consultant to Rudin Management Company, Jack Resnick & Sons, Inc., The LeFrak Organization Inc., The Shubert Organization, Richemont, The State of New York, Vornado Realty Trust, SL Green, Hudson River Park Trust, Madison International Realty, Brookfield Properties, Titan Capital, Emerald Creek Capital, Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, Yeshiva University, Lord & Taylor, Wien & Malkin, Consolidated Edison, Marcum LLP, GAP Inc., General Accident, as well as other institutions, corporations and individuals. Her valuations have also included Rockefeller Center and the MesseTurm in Frankfurt, Germany, one of Europe's tallest office buildings.
She has testified as an expert witness in Federal District Court on numerous occasions, and in various local and state courts and is also active as an arbitrator.
A certified general real estate appraiser in the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, Sharon is a past President of the Metropolitan New York Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and a member of REBNY.
She holds a BA from Gettysburg College and an MA in Real Estate and Urban Analysis Administration from the University of Florida.
